1990-2004

Chronological overview of RMF's Achievements in the Medical Field over 15 years

1990-1991

Adopted a community clinic in Zgharta, open since 1969. It served the suburbs of Tripoli , Danniyeh, and Zgharta.

Launched the first mobile dispensary in Akkar, which ensured health care for those living in the most remote villages.

1994-1995

Relocated the Zgharta Community Clinic and added a dental examination room and pharmacy.

Conducted quantitative studies of chronic diseases, such as high blood pressure and asthma, in the Zgharta population. The results were published in a medical journal and became the subject of a conference at the Saint-Joseph University .

1996

Created a medical laboratory in the Zgharta Community Clinic.

1997

Added an ophthalmologic examination room to the Zgharta Community Clinic.

Launched a second mobile dispensary for the villages of Koura.

1998

Launched a third mobile dispensary to serve the Batroun region.

Distributed medical equipment to various clinics and hospitals in North Lebanon .

Conducted a vaccination campaign for 5,513 children.

Conducted a community education program on sexually transmitted diseases for rural women in Akkar and Danniyeh.

1999-2000

Distributed medical equipment to several clinics and hospitals in North Lebanon .

Covered hospitalization costs for patients.

Organized conferences and events on cardiovascular health and the benefits of exercise as part of World Heart Day.

Conducted a community health education campaign on sexually transmitted diseases, hygiene, and breast cancer that reached 886 women and young girls.

Conducted a vaccination campaign for 3,750 children in 1999 and 3,066 children in 2000.

Conducted a national dental health campaign for 1,300 students and 100 teachers in public schools.

2001

Conducted a health education campaign that reached 550 women and young girls.

Conducted a vaccination campaign for 2,063 children.

2002

Enlarged the medical laboratory.

2003

Performed 5 corneal transplants with donations administered through RMF-USA.

Conducted a vaccination campaign for children.

Conducted a breast cancer prevention campaign.

Conducted a dental hygiene awareness campaign for 5,600 children.

2004

Performed 8 corneal transplants with donations administered through RMF-USA.

Developed a computer program to measure the population at risk of specific health complications in order to better target future prevention campaigns and ensure a more efficient patient follow up.

Benefited about 40,000 residents of North Lebanon through the services of the Community Clinic.

Enlarged the medical laboratory.
