The unit consists of a production chain for the sorting, grading and packaging of fruits and vegetables, in particular for apples and oranges.
In 2001, it was expanded to include washing and waxing services.

Description

The automated calibrating machine washes, sorts, grades and waxes fruits of different qualities according to size, weight and color, to meet the various demands of farmers and distributors. The machine's activities are monitored by a computer.

This service helps farmers export products that meet international norms and standards, mainly to Egypt, Jordan and the Gulf countries.

CAN has been adopted by the governmental organization 'Investment Development Authority of Lebanon' (IDAL) for the program "Export Plus", that promotes Lebanese fresh fruits, mainly apples, in the international markets.
