Objectives
Capacity building for small scale breeders to enhance the quality and quantity of their dairy produce and improve the processing of milk, leading to increasing their income.
Create small economic opportunities for at-risk youth to get them off the streets and into the work force.

Activities
Training sessions on Cattle raising, farm management, quality of milk and processing of dairy products.
Field visits related to reproduction, construction of a dairy farm and alimentation of herds, equipping a small lab unit.
On-site technical assistance, follow up with breeders and Quality control.

Expected results
The capacity of breeders will get strengthened through an integrated approach including theoretical and practical contents, added to technical on-site visits which will allow a change of practices and therefore an improvement of the milk production both in quantity and quality.
Increasing the income generated by breeding activity through the adoption of good practices allowing a bigger production and thus additional income. This will have a positive impact on the local economy.
Higher awareness on public health issues (higher application of hygiene standards).
