Medical Check-ups for school children
As per the beginning of June 2008, medical check-ups had been conducted by doctors in 41 elementary and intermediate schools in the regions of Akkar (17 schools), Chouf (10 schools), Tripoli (7 schools) and Zghrata (7 schools), benefiting around 10,300 students.
Prior to the medical check-ups, 3 seminars were held on 8 January 2008 (Sin El Fil, Beirut), 24 January 2008 (Mejdlaya, North) and 5 February 2008 (Arka, Akkar) for school principles, health educators and doctors to discuss the medical checkup activities. They were briefed on the LEAD program and the check-ups to be conducted, especially the hygienic aspect. Medical material was distributed.
