Gala Dinner
Annual Gala Dinner organized by RMF-USA

Summary:

465 guests attended the event during which Mr. and Mrs. James and Betty Sams were honored. Mr. and Mrs. Sams are active members in the Lebanese community in the US, supporting the
Arab-American organizations that strive towards improving Arab-American relations. Mrs. Nayla Moawad, honorary president of the RMF-USA, presented them with Distinction Awards and gave a presentation about the Foundation's activities in Lebanon. A documentary film showing the various social, medical and agricultural development projects run by the foundation was then viewed.

The ambassador of the Arab League in the USA Mr. Hussein Hassouna, the ambassador of Lebanon in the USA Mr. Farid Abboud, ambassador of Yemen Mr. Abdel Wahhab Al Hajri, representatives of various international institutions such as ANERA, CHF International, Grammeen Foundation, in addition to Mr. Scott Carpenter representative of the US Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Middle-East section, Mr Robert Aukley and Richard Murphy, ex-ambassadors of the USA in Lebanon and eminent personalities from the Lebanese Arab community in the United States all attended.

A fashion show by Lebanese designer Abed Mahfouz was also held. The benefits of the event were allocated to the social development programs of the RMF in Lebanon, more specifically to the children, youth, and women to fight against illiteracy and empowerment programs.
