Summary: |
Under the ACCESS-MENA project, and in collaboration with the Islamic Maqassed Association in Akkar and the Association of Working Women in Bab Al Tebbeneh, Tripoli, the RMF organized these sessions directed to the parents of working children and others at risk of dropping out from school. These 'Awareness Raising' sessions aimed at explaining to the parents the importance of school education, the problems that follow dropping out of school, and the harm of child labor. The sessions took place as follows: More than 150 person, mostly parents of working children and members of associations that support children at risk of dropping school, attended the sessions. The importance of school education for children and the short and long term social problems and health hazards that await working children in the future, were explained and discussed extensively. |
