The debate session was organized by the RMF in collaboration with the Friedrich Naumann Foundation. Mr. Ziyad Baroud, General secretary of the Lebanese Association for Democratic Elections (LADE), moderated the debate, which brought together more than 40 participants. The session, began with a brief introduction about the LADE's objectives and roles, which aim at raising awareness among members of the civil society on issues surrounding the parliamentary elections through campaigns and workshops targeting women, journalists and youth. Mr. Baroud expanded on the importance of the secret ballot, the freedom of vote and the freedom to chose candidates. The second part of the debate was dedicated for questions and opinions from the audience. Participants did not hesitate to express their different points of view and share their expectations. |
