Between 21 and 28 January a series of 16 personalized accounting trainings were held in various parts of Lebanon (The Bekaa, the North, the South and Mount Lebanon ), as part of the CoopNet project.
These trainings were conducted by Mr. Muhamad Shamssedine, and they consisted of individual visits to the various cooperatives headquarters. A study involving their actual accounting papers and systems was conducted, aiming to help them solve the problems they are encountering and to improve their existing accounting system.
For the few coops which have never attended a training in accounting, Mr. Shamssedine provided basic knowledge, and for those coops which are already initiated he helped them master basic operations such as debits and credits in business accounts, preparing a trial balance, preparing a balance sheet, preparing common financial statements and putting together a better filing system.
