Event at the Center of Working Children and distribution of diplomas

On the occasion of the visit of an Italian delegation from ARCI to Lebanon, the newly appointed ambassador of Italy in Lebanon, Mr. Gabriele Checchia, was invited to the Bab El Tebbaneh Center for Working Children. The purpose of the visit was for the members of the Italian delegation and for His Excellency Mr. Checchia to meet the staff and the children and to learn about the activities at the center. The event included the distribution of diplomas to 8 eight working children, that had studied at the Don Bosco technical School (Fidar, Jbeil), and earned diplomas as electricians. The diplomas were presented by His Excellency ambassador Checchia and by Father Tony Zghendi, director of the Don Bosco School. An exhibition featuring drawings and handicraft work from the children was also inaugurated. It was opened to the public for a week from 27th October till 1st November. The Italian delegation included ARCI members from various Italian cities ( Parma, Firenze, Milan and Reggio Calabria) in addition to a representative of ARCI's National Committee in Italy, Mr Stefano Kovac, and the president of ARCI Toscana, Mr. Vincenzo Striano. |
