Environmental Trip for School Children (LEAD)

As part of the LEAD Program activities, a cultural and environmental trip was organized for students from the following 3 schools: the Ahmad El-Bolbol Intermediate Mixed School (Dalhoune), the Barja El-Dimass Intermediate Mixed School and the Barja Intermediate School for Girls. The trip included visits to the Moussa Castle and the Natural Cedar Reserve of El-Barouk. After having breakfast at the school, the students accompanied by the principal, health educator, other teachers and the LEAD team, visited the Moussa Castle, and got introduced to the Lebanese ancient culture represented in the museum. They even got the chance to meet “Mr. Moussa” the person who built and owns the castle. The students then visited the Natural Cedar Reserve of El-Barouk. They were introduced to the life cycle of the Lebanese Cedar trees, and to the importance of maintaining a reserve. Afterwards, the group enjoyed a healthy lunch at a restaurant in Nabaa El Safa, during which the students were asked to express in drawing their learning experiences at the reserve. |
