Description: |
Taking place at the RMF Campus in Mejdlaya, the 'Christmas Village' included a whole range of activities. ![]() A huge Christmas Crèche (crib) was built, covering 200 square meters. It took the craftsmanship of many artists and volunteers, and a whole week of dedicated and creative work to achieve, and turned out to be a huge success as much among children as among adults, earning the reputation of being "the largest crib ever built in Lebanon"!. The village included a large area where several exhibitors displayed their traditional Lebanese crafts and Christmas ornaments: Candles, Embroideries, Mouneh, Chocolate, Soap or Balloons… Every visitor was offered a photo with Santa Claus, when visiting Santa's special workshop. There, the children could also enjoy face painting and making art crafts in Mrs Claus’s Art shop.
1500 children visited the theater area where they could attend a variety of Christmas related shows: Mini Studio, Cirque du Liban, Le club des deux clowns, Magician show, Puppet show (baytik ya sitti). Musical concerts were performed by the Saydet Mejdlaya choir and the Choral Al Fayhaa featuring various Christmas songs and charols. The event brought happiness, joy and fun moments to each of the very large number of visitors (mainly children) who came from all parts of the North as well as other parts of the country.
