Creation and Distribution of Booklet for working children (ACCESS)
Theme:
Safety at work for working children

The project is part of the ACCESS-MENA project's activities.

The work on the booklet started in November 2006 and the booklet was finalized and printed in March 2007.

The purpose of the booklet is to explain to the working children their rights and the benefits they are entitled to from their employers.

The beneficiaries are all the working children enrolled in Literacy or AVT sessions of the ACCESS-MENA project and any other working children reached by the partner NGOs.

The booklet is a means of awareness for the working children, and it can be used in 2 ways:
1) It explains to the children their rights and what they should ask for from their employer.
2) It is a phone book where they can keep the phone numbers and addresses they have.

The booklet consists of 36 pages with drawings. It is handed to the children in a colored gift-wallet, and being distributed to them by the social workers in the partner NGOs and by the field officers.

Pages from the booklet:

"Age limit is 14. Health check required."

"Medical box. Informing the employer on accidents. Care while using sharp tools. Using gloves."

"List of jobs not fit for children."

"Child beating is illegal. Social security registration."

"Health certificate from Health Ministry."
