April-May 2008
Awareness meetings on 'Benefits of Education for Working Children', with Community and Religious Leaders (ACCESS)
Summary:

Four sessions on the benefits of education for working children were conducted during the months of April and May 2008, with the community and religious leaders, as part of the ACCESS-MENA project.

The sessions’ main objectives were to establish basics of knowledge on children’s rights and CRC (Convention of Rights of Children) and especially to think how to continue working in these issues after the ending of the project.

More than 60 community and religious leaders in Beirut, Tripoli and Akkar benefited from these sessions.

These meetings came as a follow up for similar events that took place during the period of January-March 2008. Community leaders repeated their interest in being involved and supporting all the activities that were implimented by the ACCESS project, especially raising the awareness for employers, parents and children.
