The Trips and cultural activities were part of the ACCESS-MENA project. The goal of these activities was to provide children with time to play, have fun and discover some cultural and historical sites in Lebanon. These recreational activities benefited more than 2100 children: 385 children in Beirut; 845 in Tripoli; 630 in Akkar and 267 in Saida. They were scheduled right after the awareness sessions in order to assert the importance of the right to play. From January to July 2008, a total of 23 trips were conducted: 8 trips for school from the Tripoli region, 7 from Akkar, 4 from Beirut and 4 from the South. The trips were mainly to places like the Jeita Grotto, the Jbeil fortress, 'Dino City' fun park in Ajaltoun and movies in the cinemas. They all included meals in restaurants and snacks. |
