In the presence of H.E. Mrs. Nayla Moawad and H.E. Mr. Yoshihisa Coroda, Ambassador of Japan in Lebanon, the Industrial Kitchen for Vocational Training, was inaugurated by the RMF in Mejdlaya. The project was sponsored by the Japanese government from 2004 onwards. Also present for the event were Mrs. Randa Jawad Boulos, Me. Marielle Michel Moawad, father Nader Nader from the Mar Sarkis and Bakhos monastery, a number of municipal and public figures in the region, and school principals from the Zgharta-Zawye district.

On the occasion, Mrs. Moawad heart fully thanked H.E. Mr Coroda for his efforts and support for the project, and stressed on the benefit that such projects have for all the people of the region regardless of their political allegiances. Mrs. Moawad put the project at the disposition of all the Zgharta-Zawye citizens, and emphasized with pride the fact that the RMF has been active in various social, educational and agricultural fields in all Lebanese regions, serving all without preferences.

In his speech, H.E. Mr Coroda, congratulated the RMF for the success of this project, and explained the benefit that the equipment at the kitchen will hold for the youth of the regions, especially the young ladies, through the vocational trainings and workshops that it can allow. He also wished all the best for RMF, appreciating its work and successful projects.

Mr. Nabil Moawad, director of the agricultural department at the RMF, shared that the cost of the project was USD 71,000 and explained that the equipment included refrigerators, pastry machines and technical equipment, and covered all the needs of the project. He added that the beneficiaries are jobless young people, rural women working in the food sectors and farmers.

At the end of the event, H.E. Moawad and H.E. Coroda were led on a tour to the kitchen to dicover the functioning of its various elements and modern equipment.
