Awareness sessions on 'Education benefits', for employers of potential at risk or Working Children (ACCESS) |
Summary: |
As part of the ACCESS-MENA project, three sessions were conducted during the month of May 2008 with employers of withdrawn and prevented children in Akkar and Tripoli, on the benefits of education for working children. Employers of potential at risk or working children benefited from these meetings. The goal of the sessions was to establish basic knowledge on children’s rights and CRC (Convention of Rights of Children). The sessions started with introduction of the project aims and objectives and team members. Moreover, basics of children’s rights were injected during the sessions. Finally, employers with the help of the team members filled post-evaluation form, which was prepared to assess their knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors regarding children’s rights and education. Some sessions took place on a one to one basis while other sessions took place in groups depending on the region and characteristics of the employers. |
