Inauguration of the 'Ibtikar' Center at BIAT
Summary:

Following the invitation by Mr Fawwaz Haamidi director of the BIAT (Business Incubation Association Tripoli), and in the presence of H.E. Mrs Angelina Eichhorst, the European Union's ambassador to Lebanon and the Minister of Economy and Trade Mr. Mohamad Al Safadi, the ‘Al-Ibtikar' center, financed by the EU was inaugurated at the BIAT.
Also present were Vice President of the Chamber of Trade, Industry and Agriculture in Tripoli Mr. Marcel Al Chabtini, Chairman of the Mutual Fund for the Members of the Chambers of Commerce Industry & Agriculture (Al Sandouk al Taadoudi) Mr Toufic Al Dabbousi, and Mrs Marielle Moawad representing RMF.

In her speech on the occasion, Ambassador Eichhorst said: “When I first came to Lebanon , I asked my working-team about the most relevant project that the EU has undertaken in Lebanon ; and the answer was: The BIAT.”

Al Chabtini praised the achievement of BIAT, emphasizing on the successful partnership between the Chamber of Trade and Industry and RMF.

BIAT's vice-president Nasri Moawad shared that the BIAT which was established in 2006 had highly succeeded in its goals: bringing economical development to North Lebanon by encouraging new initiatives in the North and creating successful institutions. He further described how the BIAT hosts various institutions in its complex and offers trainings and undertakes market studies (business plans, marketing studies) to support small enterprises. He also praised the successful and close collaboration between the Chamber, the Mutual Assistance Fund and RMF.

After the inauguration, a lunch was offered by the Mutual Assistance Fund.
