The Medical Laboratory at the Zgharta Community Clinic
In 2002, with the support of the Japanese Embassy in Lebanon, the RMF rehabilitated and equipped the medical laboratory within the Zgharta Community Clinic. The laboratory provides medical analysis and diagnosis at reduced prices. The charges are at 40% of the local social security rate. The rare cases requiring highly specialized tests are sent out to labs in Tripoli.
The service benefits those living in the region by both reducing the cost and providing a service otherwise available only in larger cities. The lowering of the costs of these medical tests has made them easily available to all those in need.
Beneficiaries
In each of 2004 and 2005, around 2000 patients benefited from the service.
