Children Rights Programs and Workshops

Over the last few years, several workshops on children's rights were initiated by the RMF throughout Lebanon.
The Foundation developed a program of action which aims at disseminating knowledge and awareness on children’s rights. The program targets chidren's rights activists working directly with children in Lebanon. The aim of the workshops is to present the basic concept of children's rights, introduce the legal documents and conventions, and provide implementation methods.
The workshops study the history of the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) since its adoption in 1989. A focused participative approach is used to present, describe and analyse the content of the CRC, which includes 54 articles divided into three sections:
1- The presentation of the rights.
2- The follow-up and implementation of the rights.
3- Legal measures for ratification, approval and withdrawal.
The workshops provide an in-depth analysis of the CRC and expand on new prospects and visions contained in it such as the concept of child protection outlined in the following articles:
Non-Discrimination (Article 2)
Survival and Development (Article 6)
Participation (Article 12)
Best Interests of the child (Article 3)
