Workshops on Human Rights

The René Moawad Foundation regularly organizes workshops on human rights. These workshops bring together leaders of different civic groups to discuss human rights issues with the active participation of university professors, students and professionals.

These workshops offer a platform for debate on core subjects such as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and its principles and mechanisms. The discussions focus on the state of rights, fair trials, children’s and women’s rights, the death penalty and racism in Lebanon. Case studies about violations of human rights are presented. The participants undertake self-evaluation exercises to assess their civic impact as NGOs and members of civil society.

Through these workshops, participants deepen their understanding of the important role of NGOs in promoting respect for the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the principles of human rights, and acquire effective tools and arguments for this purpose.
